my name's 'Bear' - just 'Bear'
I was Catherine's best friend
as a small baby
in her cradle and her cot
at her side both night and day
my name's 'Lamb' - just 'Lamb'
Catherine took me with her
where ever she went
telling me of her troubles
throughout all her childhood years
oh what tales we have
we pair of 'thirty-somethings'
who've witnessed so much
alas our tales are secret
stored for one special new child
Dodo,
ReplyDeleteA wonderful poem and set of pictures (perhaps with your retirement, poetry is going to be something you will take up?). I trust that all is well with the baby? G-d bless.
DK.
Lazing about on a rubber dingy, more like!
ReplyDeleteWonder if Blowers will lend me his pirate outfit and spyglass
It's all in the post but watch you don't puncture the dinghy with the cutlass. Aaargh!
ReplyDeleteBlowers
Why thank you me hearty Cap'n' Blowers. There comes a time in most men's lives where they feel the need to raise the Black Flag.
ReplyDeleteI'll sail the seven seas and discover blogs a plenty and become a notorious pirate; as elusive as the Dodo bird.
I've been a bird, a monk, a clown,
A poet, a busker and many a thing;
I've been up and down and over and out,
And I know one thing;
Each time I find myself flat on my face,
I change myself and get back in the race.
*chuckle*
